When Lucy and Peter inquired with me about their Brooklyn engagement photos (and their wedding in Cape Cod next summer!), my bags were practically already packed. I absolutely love traveling for my couples and am always ecstatic when I get to visit new places. And getting to travel to Brooklyn? Sign me up! Their Brooklyn engagement photos turned out beautifully, and I’m so excited to share them with you. Keep reading to learn more about Lucy and Peter! You’re gonna love their story.
The Backstory
In New York, Lucy has been a front line COVID nurse throughout 2020. So you can only imagine how much Peter has supported her. One of the things that really stood out to me during their shoot was their deep, genuine admiration for each other. Nothing bonds a couple like constantly supporting each other through the worst of times, and that’s exactly what Lucy and Peter have done for each other. How sweet is that?
They’ve been together for a little over 4 years, and have been taking the slow and steady route when it comes to wedding planning. Especially during these unprecedented times, they both thought it would be best to take their time. But the one thing they wanted done as soon as possible was their engagement photos! Being engaged is such a special time period for couples, and documenting that stage is something you’ll never regret. In Lucy’s words, she wanted to capture their “freshly engaged excitement”! And “freshly engaged excitement” is definitely what shone through in their Brooklyn engagement photos.
Lucy said she wanted to take these photos and be able to look back at the first neighborhood they called home together. How sweet is that? And let me tell you, I had the best time exploring their neighborhood with them. They don’t plan on staying in New York forever, so these photos are documenting such a core stage in their lives. That’s the wonderful thing about engagement sessions — you can make them special to you and your partner and your story together. I love working with my couples to ensure their session is unique! I always send out a detailed questionnaire to get to know you as much as possible. And then from there we plan your session!
