Megan & Joe’s backyard wedding outside Boston felt like a love letter to life’s simple pleasures. It was intimate, intentional, and overflowing with meaningful moments documented on film. The kind of day that stays with you long after it’s over. I already shared a few of my favorite photos on IG but trust me, you’ll want to keep scrolling.
A Perfect Sunday Backyard Wedding Outside Boston
When Megan and Joe first reached out about photographing their backyard wedding outside Boston, they told me about their weekend ritual. What they call their “perfect little Sundays.” Sleeping in. Doing the New York Times crossword together. Working in the garden. Tinkering with the motorcycles. Walking their dog, Ruthie. Sharing a home-cooked meal (Joe is a professional chef!) before ending the day with a sunset motorcycle ride.
So when it came time to plan their dream day, those same rituals became the heart of their wedding. Megan and Joe wanted their celebration to feel like home — full of warmth, nostalgia, and personal touches. They invited their people into their version of a Perfect Little Sunday, only this time it was their wedding day.
Megan & Joe’s Love Story
Megan & Joe are the kind of people who truly embrace the everyday moments. The beauty in the familiarity of quiet routines, shared hobbies, and the simple joys of building a life together. Every bit of that intentionality shined through on their day. Through the intimate backyard setting at home, each thoughtful details, and of course the fact that their wedding exit was on the back of a motorcycle (I’m still not over the photo from this moment!!!). Their perfect little Sunday backyard wedding outside Boston had these two written all over it.
Intimate Backyard Wedding Details
As if this wedding day couldn’t get any more perfect, I photographed it almost entirely on film. The colors, the feeling and the joy all came through in a way that felt so true to their day. It reminded me exactly why I love documenting weddings in this format so much.
Their backyard wedding was not only a celebration of their union, but a celebration of what makes life worth living. Creating a home together. Sharing it with loved ones. Finding joy in the small, ordinary moments. They told me that their dream was “filling our home with all of our loved ones and filling their bellies with food and laughter is our favorite thing. We hope that our wedding will feel exactly like that — like an intimate dinner party at our home.“ It’s safe to say that their backyard wedding outside Boston was everything they hoped for and so, so much more. I’m endlessly grateful to have been a part of it, and to have documented their love so honestly. I’ll never forget this one!!!
