When I shot Kate and Joseph’s South End engagement session, I was overwhelmed with the love that was in the air. Because K & J are long distance, they don’t get to see each other often. So when they were finally together for their engagement session, I was able to capture their love so authentically!
Not only did we take these photos to celebrate their engagement, but also to celebrate Joseph’s trip to Boston. He’s currently finishing his PhD in California, so they don’t get to see each other very often. When I asked what they wanted to remember with these photos, they said: “I hope these photos capture the time when it was just a gift to be next to each other, something we have never taken for granted.” How sweet is that?!
The way that Kate and Joseph still make time for each other while having so much on their plates was so sweet to hear about. For example, every Thursday night is their Facetime date night, where they usually watch the Great British Baking Show or something else baking related on YouTube. When they’re together, their favorite thing to do is to spend time with their friends and try new foods together! Making dinner from scratch (think: rolling homemade pasta) is also on the list of activities they love doing together, which sounds like a heck of a good time to me.
They originally met at the first high school football game of Kate’s freshman year/Joseph’s junior year. They had lots of mutual friends over the years, but it wasn’t until Joseph’s senior prom did they start becoming a little more than just friends. Although they were high school sweethearts, they took some time in college to figure their lives out and ultimately made their way back to each other. And now, here they are!
Kate & Joseph are so in love, I honestly barely had to pose them at all during their South End engagement session. They were truly just so natural and loving, and willing to share that with me and my camera!
