Abby & Pedro’s colorful summer wedding at Chesterwood was so full of story, unbridled joy and an overflowing amount of love. I’m still not over it and don’t think I ever will be.
Summer Wedding at Chesterwood
Chesterwood is a historic summer home and museum dedicated to the life and work of American sculptor Daniel Chester French. Nestled in a scenic landscape in Stockbridge, the venue features beautifully landscaped gardens, a historic studio, and stunning sculptures. Owned and operated by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, Chesterwood is a unique wedding venue for art enthusiasts and history lovers alike. It also happens to be a documentary wedding photographer’s dream! A true gem in the heart of Massachusetts and a ideal backdrop for those who have a special appreciation for historic venues.
Abby & Pedro’s Story
Abby and Pedro shared their love story through such creative and heartfelt ways at their colorful summer wedding at Chesterwood.
One of the most beautiful details that marked their wedding day was the bride’s wedding dress. Abby wore a wedding dress that was worn by her mother and her mother before. She also incorporated a beautiful lace scarf that she wore draped across her shoulders. The same scarf that was made when her mother wanted to cover up a champagne stain on the original dress worn by her grandmother. How beautiful that the story of the gown evolved with each bride on her wedding day. A family heirloom that continues through generations of love stories. For Abby’s day, the dress featured two pieces that fit together to create the most stunning gown complete with a drop waist and large bow.
Colorful Wedding Details
Abby and Pedro’s fun and spirited personality were seen throughout every aspect of their colorful summer wedding at Chesterwood. From whimsical, garden party inspired wedding stationery to baskets of flowers in place of bouquets, this wedding had that classic New England character with hints of vintage charm around every corner. Following a beautiful garden ceremony nestled among hydrangeas, cocktail hour was hosted outside on the lawn alongside the Chesterwood museum. Afterwards, guests were given the warmest welcome into reception. The tent was decked out with colorful pennant garlands, string lights and ribbon featuring all the warm colors that you think of in summertime. It was so vibrant and so them. The perfect backdrop for a night of dinner, dancing, and overwhelming love.
