Last fall, I went down to New York to collaborate with some mega-talented friends for an insanely beautiful Brooklyn brownstone elopement. It was a day full of creative artistry, inspiration, and of course — love.
About Kai and Garrett
Where do I even start with these two? Kai and Garrett’s energy is unmatched. They both have such a playful relationship with one another, and their love and humor is contagious. They were so willing and comfortable to be in front of the camera and share their story with me! Documenting their beautiful moments on this special day in the Brooklyn neighborhood they call home was heart-warming. As a wedding photographer, I dedicate so much time to getting to know my couples so when a relationship forms so effortlessly like it did with Kai and Garrett – I appreciate just how special that is.
Brooklyn elopement details
Aside from the couple and their dynamic, the florals were the showstoppers of the day (courtesy of @emberfloral). The stoop installation was truly epic – the perfect mix of timeless, romantic, and elegant with a bit of an urban flare. It made the perfect backdrop for Kai and Garrett to exchange their personal vows.
A Brooklyn brownstone elopement wouldn’t be the same without some stoop shots but we also couldn’t pass up visiting the local park in Fort Greene. We ended the day by taking portraits on the stairs at Fort Greene Park, a true neighborhood gem, which was all aglow from the setting afternoon sun.
The magic of creative collaboration
Honestly, not sure I’ll ever get over this perfect Brooklyn brownstone elopement, and I’m okay with that. I guess that’s what happens when a creative project reminds you just how much you love what you do for a living. After a full year and an even fuller calendar of weddings, there’s nothing better than getting those creative juices flowing in a new, awe-inspiring way. Huge shoutout to our generous hosts at The Crafted Space for organizing this dreamy day.
