In the era of COVID, last minute changes have unfortunately become common. As a result, the wedding industry — and in particular the wedding photography community — has become even stronger and more collaborative. Two days before Marni and Jared were set to be married, their photographer, Annemarie Swift, emailed me looking for a last minute second photographer because her other one had tested positive for COVID — and I’m so happy I was able to fill in!
Marni & Jared got married on a rare chilly day in May but you would never know how cold it actually was by looking at these photos — their modern wedding at The Crane Estate was filled with a different kind of warmth that day. The joy that exuded from these two was more than enough to shield them from the cold and their guests gave them that same joy right back.
Weather is one of those tricky things on your wedding day that is totally out of your control. So when your couple fully embraces their day for what it is by making the best of it and filling it up with love and happiness, it’s pretty special. And hey, at the end of the day you’re getting to marry the love of your life in front of all your favorite people – there’s no way a chilly forecast can get in the way of that! Marni and Jared were so wonderful to work with and I absolutely adored documenting their love.
Modern wedding details
I’ve been wanting to shoot a modern, elegant wedding at The Crane Estate for years, so this serendipitous day was a dream come true. The estate is a stunning hilltop venue overlooking the Atlantic ocean with views of salt marshes and sandy beaches. It seriously looks like it’s straight out of a painting. The Great House gave Marni and Jared quite the picturesque backdrop for their wedding portraits and their all white floral arrangements were quite the showstoppers themselves! The European feel of the estate complimented their modern wedding details so perfectly.
Soft romance set the tone of their wedding reception. Floating candles at every corner softly lit the space detailed with timeless black and white accents. Safe to say there was a whole lot of love in the room that night. Every genuine glance, embrace, and happy tear shared between Marni and Jared was enough to make your heart flutter. Not a day goes by where I don’t pinch myself for getting to take part in special moments like these.
