Looking back on this beautiful day spent documenting Orla and Matt’s Boston Winter Elopement in Beacon Hill brings back all those warm and fuzzy feelings. Even though in reality this day was quite cold! These two exuded a different kind of warmth that day.
About Orla and Matt
Orla is originally from Ireland and Matt’s from England. They both met in college overseas and the rest is history! Orla’s new job as a researcher at one of the local hospitals in Boston brought these two to the US. Shortly after, they decided to commemorate their love by eloping at Cambridge City Hall and taking elopement photos in Beacon Hill, Boston.
How We Met Through the Photography Community
These two were actually clients of my friend and fellow photog, Ashley Olafsson. But, right before their elopement she got COVID! So luckily, I was able to step in and shoot Orla and Matt’s Boston winter elopement for her.
The wedding industry has been rocked by the pandemic but one good thing to come from it is the amazing strength of the community – I’ve filled in for others when they’re sick, and others have filled in for me. Shooting this Boston elopement for Ashley was the perfect reminder of this! Despite the circumstances, it’s always an honor to be entrusted with a fellow photographer’s clients to document such a monumental day.
Matt & Orla’s Elopement in Beacon Hill
Orla and Matt are such kind and easygoing people! After their elopement at Cambridge City Hall we had the best time together wandering around Beacon Hill and the Boston Public Garden taking portraits. They even had close family nearby to throw some celebratory confetti! It was really special getting to witness their bright and cheerful expressions all day. No cold weather forecast could’ve changed that!
This day was overflowing with sweetness and I’m so happy I was able to fill in for my friend and fellow photographer because these two were truly a joy to capture.
